COVID-19: Plateau exco in self isolation as commissioner test positive

Confussion has plagued the Plateau State executive council after one of its own and Commissioner of Commerce and Industry Abe Aku tested positive to the coronavirus dissease.
Apparently dazed with this reality, Governor Simon Bako Lalong of the state ordered members of the State Executive Council to self isolate after undergoing a compulsory test.
Though sources hinted that there was no panic at Rayfield, the seat of government, the apprehensive atmosphere within the vicinity was a course for concern.
It was however observed that large gatherings at social centres, especially at weekends by the youthful population may be a hindrance to total adherence to stated rules.
Based on risen cases of infection, the government at the weekend, rolled out stricter measures to ensure total compliance of the wearing of facemasks with the state security outfit, Operation Rainbow given the matching orders to enforce.
Meanwhile, on the Governor’s directive, specimens of the Commisioners are to be forwarded to the COVID-19 Laboratory centre at the National Veterinary Reseach institute (NVRI), Vom for testing.
