Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Don’t lose hope in the Nigerian project – Clergyman urges Nigerians

Nigerians have been encouraged not lose hope in the Nigerian project but contribute their quota in the development of the project so that it will succeed.
The encouragement was made the Very Rev Dickson Oga of the Wesley Methodist Church, Bauchi during the commemoration service of the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day held at the Bishara Baptist Church, bauchi on Sunday.
The Clergyman who delivered the message at the ceremony organized by Bauchi State Chapter of Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) said that though things are not the way they supposed to be as envisaged by the past heroes, there is still rays of hope for the country.
He hailed the heroes who laid down their lives for the unity of the country lamenting however that the present happenings are not giving Nigerians happiness but expressed optimism that with perseverance and commitment, negative things can be turned positively.
Dickson Oga then urged Christians to continue to pray for the good of the country stressing that no matter how bad a situation is, fervent prayers and rededication can change it for good.
He took his message titled: ‘Hope for a better tomorrow’ from Exodus 2:23-25 emphasizing that the future of Nigeria is better that the yesterday and today.
In his remarks, Acting CCN Chairman, Rev Sunday Olobo said that the Remembrance Day should go beyond mere annual ceremony but an occasion to be used for sober reflection on the present situation in the country in order to be able to move on positively.
Sunday Olobo stressed that Nigeria needs God’s divine intervention at the moment it is now at the verge of disintegration declaring that if not for the grace of God, Nigeria will not still be standing as a United entity.
Prayers were offered for the repose of the fallen heroes, their families, leadership of the country.
