Barely 24 hours after it began to boycott activities of the office of the Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, members of the Correspondents Chapel, Bauchi State Council have resolved the differences with the office.
The development followed an amicable resolution after the intervention of stakeholders led by the State Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Garba Dahiru and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado.
It was announced that the Government officials met with the leadership of the Chapel and amicably resolved the matter after an understanding of the issue that led to the action.
The leadership of the chapel thereafter conveyed the decisions reached between it and the Government officials and members agreed to sheath their swords in the best interest of the state and peaceful coexistence.
A statement from the Chapel Chairman, Ahmed Mohammed therefore reads: “With the resolutions reached, all members of the Correspondents chapel are expected to continue to cover the activities of the office of the Deputy Governor forthwith”.
