Bauchi NULGE described consultants committee paying salaries as retrogressive

The Bauchi State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, (NULGE) has expressed dismay over the delay in payment of salaries to it members in the state.
The Chairman of the Union in the state, Comrade Mohammed Yunusa, while speaking with Apex News Exclusive in Bauchi recently, described the Consultant Committee handling the issue of salary payment as retrogressive and barbaric to the smooth operation of civil service in the state.
Comrade Yunusa said despite the efforts of the State Government to ensure effective civil service delivery during the present administration in the state, the engagement of the consultant committee to pay salary is seriously denting the image and creating conflict between the state government and workers in the state.
He observed that, some workers in the Local Government have not received their monthly salaries for some months as a result of incompetance of the consultant vested with the payment of the salary in the state, despite the loyalty and dedication of his members to their assigned responsibilities.
The chairman used this forum to appeal to the state government in the interest of it good working relationship with the labour in the state to do away with the present system of paying salaries to workers in state to better alternative that will bring back good and prayfull relationship between the state government and it loyal civil servants.
Comrade Yunusalamented over the non-promotion of local government employees staff since 2015 to date therefore appeal to the authority concerned to consider the promotion of it members in the interest of fairness and justice as been done yearly to other state civil servants.
Also, the chairman appeal to the state government consider the enrollment in time the payment of pension of local government employees staff when put on retirement date to enable them enjoy the devidends of democracy.
