As political activities for 2023 gradually picks up, a political pressure Group known as Bauchi Youth Control Center (BYCC) has called on the state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to consider the immediate past Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar for governorship as its candidate.
The call was made by Alhaji Babangida Ajiya, BYCC Chairman at a press conference on Tuesday in Bauchi , stressing that Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar is qualified to be the governor of Bauchi state based on his tract records of achievements.
Babangida Ajiya also said that their support for Saddique Abubakar was anchored on four key pillars, which are proven performer, public servant with wholesome track record, pragmatic reformer and prudent manager of resources.
He added that, “Many people are yearning for Air Saddique to contest the governorship position, come 2023.We don’t want to start listing all his achievements, which is too numerous to mention, but many have seen all his developmental strides across the country and Bauchi state, since 2015 to 2020”
Babangida Ajiya further said that, “By statistics, we recorded over 900 completed and 156 ongoing projects in Airforce formations and public places across the country. In Bauchi alone, he established Nigeria Airforce Base with state of art hospital , school, swimming pool, special training center, befitting accommodation for officers and Special Operations command among others”
“The former Air Marshal has what it takes to govern the affairs of the state and we want to benefit from his wealth of experience of leadership to steer the state and replicate the same in Bauchi.We are appealing to our elders, religious traditional and Traditional leaders, Business Associations and the youths to please forget party differences, join forces and rally round Air Marshall Saddique, so that he will contest and win the Governorship” Ajiya said.
Babangida Ajiya disclosed that the group would after the Ramadan period commence Mass mobilization and sensitization of campaign volunteers across the state for the cause.
