Rev. Fr. Alia
A humanitarian Catholic priest and a front-line gubernatorial aspirant for 2023 in Benue State, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia has emphasized the need to look at farming as an economic venture rather than just a mere way of life.
Father Alia made the call when the youth wing of Jechira Gubernatorial Movement, (JGM), visited him in Makurdi, the state capital.
He lamented that despite being the food basket of the nation, Benue farmers are still lacking behind when it comes to mechanized agriculture. He opined that urgent steps need to be taken so that rudimentary agriculture will be replaced by mechanization. Alia in several fora has put agricultural in his priority list as his agenda for Benue people if given the opportunity.

Accordingly, Alia also opened up to the visitors that as a Priest in the Lord’s vineyard he is in the race to win the governorship. He appreciated the apolitical youth wing of JGM for the sound initiative, stating that although Jechira has long been neglected, the opportunity is here to put things in their right perspective.
Earlier, the leader of the group, Dan Nyikwagh stated in his speech that the youth wind of JGM is responsible in ensuring the actualization of Jechira governorship come 2023. He said the group will guide against mischief makers who are out the shortchange the good people of Jechira at the end of the day.
Other prominent members of the group also pledged their commitment to make Jechira governorship bid successful come 2023.
Notable among the foot soldiers of Father Alia’s trail were Hon. Terfa Bossua, Barr. Sokpo, Engr. Ninga, Engr. Abuku among others. Highlights of the event was a minute silent observed in honour of the killed and displaced people of Ishagev Tiev, and the victims of Abagena IDP herdsmen attack.
Father Alia is coming to the rig with a lot of comparative goodwill. Not just a priest, Alia has been consistent with his miraculous works of healings and other beneficial spiritual effect to the common people in the state. This has endeared him so much in the heart of people. He has being the man of crowd.
Beside that, the priest is said to standing on the shoulder of a giant. As a dominant church which previously produced a governor who despite the short stays did well, the people are likely to be influenced by the late Rev. Father Moses Adasu legacies.

I believe this was Gods purpose and assignment.
Benue we cant stand to miss this opportunity
