Anambra State Police Command has arrested five suspects over the killing 9 persons in Awkuzu in Oyi Local Government Area on Monday.
Our correspondent gathered from a senior Police officer at the State Command, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the suspects were arrested at a place he declined to name so as not to impede investigation.
“The Command has decided not to make such information public in other not to jeopardize ongoing investigations
“We are making progress on those who killed the people on Monday at Awkuzu by arresting five of the suspects.
“The Command will not rest until the perpetrators of such heinous act are completely apprehended, he stressed.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said the command was still investigating the matter.”
It would be recalled that there was clash in the early morning of Monday, April 26, 2021 between some people in Uzo Nkwo, Awkuzu, in Oyi Local Government Area, where some people were killed and some others maimed, as both sides recorded casualties.
