Taraba Governor, Ishaku advocates for State Police, decries incessant killings in Nigeria

Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State has again advocated for the establishment of State Police to stop the senseless killings of innocent citizens in the country.

The Governor who was speaking during the wedding solemnization of Godiya Mamman and Peter Paya at the Upper Room Cathedral Church Yola, Adamawa State said creation of State Police would tackle insecurity facing the Country.

He expressed mixed feelings on how the Military was able to establish peace in many African Countries and wonder why insecurity still persist in Nigeria.

Governor Ishaku encouraged Tarabans and People of Adamawa State to maintain peace mostly those on border areas.

In his message, Archbishop Calvin Antonza advised the couple to put their trust in God to surmount marital life challenges.

He disabused their minds on the beliefs of many couples who only rely on their strength saying no marriage succeed without God.

The Archbishop challenged them to love one another and remain prayerful.

Special prayers for the couple and nation led by Bishop Peter Makanto of the Upper Room Church, presentation of marriage certificate and hymnal led by Timawus Mathias a veteran broadcaster featured at the solemnization.

Godiya Iliya Mamman is a niece to Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku and daughter of Member 3, Primary Education Board, Jalingo, Gladys Mamman.

State Deputy Governor Haruna Manu,Speaker of the State House of Assembly Joseph Albasu Kunini,Chief of Staff Government House Administration Stephen Haruna Gbana, Commissioners, State PDP Chairman Dantala Agbu Kefas,former PDP Chairman Victor Bala Kona and other dignitaries graced the wedding Solemnization.
