The Umuada Igbo Nigeria and in Diaspora, has congratulated Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State for the successful landing of the test-run flights at the Anambra International Passenger and Cargo Airport, Umueri.
The Umuada Igbo Nigeria and in Diaspora is an umbrella body of daughters of Igboland with ECOSOC status at United Nations New York, USA and Geneva, Switzerland.
In a release signed by the National President of the association, Dr. Kate Ezeofor and National Secretary, Dr. Kate Chibuzor, the group said that Governor Obiano has carved his name on golden plaque of history with the landing of test-run flights at the airport.
They further said that the Governor has indeed proven to be a leader with a Midas touch and that history with be kind to him.
The release equally appreciated the Federal Government for giving Anambra State the license and approval to build the airport, without which the feat would have not been possible.
The Umuada Igbo also praised Barrister Allen Onyema of Air Peace for identifying with the noble project and commended pilot Nwando Phina Okpaleke from Anambra State, who was one of the pilots that landed at the airport.
