The umbrella body of Yoruba Christian youths in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna state, Itesiwaju Progressive Forum gathered with their Muslim brothers of Yoruba extraction, to support religious harmony as part of 2021 Eid-el-Fitr Celebration.

Delivering a Keynote address at the event that took place at Ansaruddin Central Mosque in Kafanchan, Coordinator, Center for Leadership, Peace and Youths Development, Joel Olusayo Adegboyega, said they gathered to celebrate with Muslims in order to set an example by shunning the things that divided them and promote what united them despite the heat in the country.

“We observed that we share the same market, football pitch, schools and the physical outlook, why should religion put us apart.

“There must be a deliberate step to reunite us together, to share the fun and happiness and to bring back the fun of yester-years, where tolerance and religious harmony was seen and celebrated among our parents.”

He therefore appealed to government and the people to remove the boundaries that separated them so as to contribute his own quota for the development of Southern Kaduna and the entire state.

In their goodwill messages, the Chairmen, Itesiwaju Progressive Forum (Christians Yoruba), Solomon Adeyeye, and the Ansaruddin Muslim Society of Nigeria (Youth Branch, Kafanchan), Adamu Abdulazeez, stressed the important of promoting peaceful coexistence among different faithfuls so as to strengthen better understanding in order to live in peace and harmony.
