Commonwealth Medical Association President, Dr. Enabulele condoles Nigeria’s President, Buhari over demise of Chief of Army Staff, other officers in plane crash

The Commonwealth Medical Association (CMA) received with heavy heart and sadness, the news of the demise of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, and other gallant officers, on Friday, May 21, 2021 following a fatal plane crash in Kaduna.
The CMA in a condolence message to Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari says it shares a great pain and that of his wife and immediate family of the deceased officers over the unfortunate loss.
President, Commonwealth Medical Association, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, said on behalf of the association and physicians from the 54 countries of the Commonwealth, sincerely convey its deepest and heartfelt condolences to the President, Lt.-Gen. Attahiru’s wife and entire family, as well as spouses and families of the other departed officers, and the Government and people of Nigeria, over the irreparable loss.
According to the message, Lt.-Gen. Attahiru was known for his charismatic and purposeful leadership and acknowledged as a great commander with an impeccable commitment to your developmental agenda for Nigeria.
“We are therefore in no doubt that the unfortunate demise of Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and the other departed officers at this critical time in Nigeria’s history, will leave a great vacuum that may be difficult to fill,” Dr. Enabulele noted.
The President prayed that the memories of his progressive strides and commitment to the oneness of Nigeria brings solace to you, his wife and family, and the Government and people of Nigeria.
“We pray God to grant you, his wife and family, spouses and families of the other departed officers, and the Government and people of Nigeria, the fortitude to bear the great loss. May the great soul of Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and the other departed officers, rest in perfect peace,” the message stressed.
