North East Youth salutes Nigeria Hotel Association President as Icon of Peace-building

The North East Youth Consultative Forum have charged non-indigene influenctual leaders in the region to be drivers of peace.
The Forum gave the charge on Monday while presenting Ambassadorial Award of Excellence as an Icon of Peace Building to the President, Nigeria Hotel Association, Eze Patrick Anyanwu in Bauchi.
The Organising Secretary of the Forum, Comrade Zacharia Mohammed while making the Presentation, maintained that Northern Nigeria accomadates people of different race binded by common history.
“The thing that unite us is are stronger than the things that divide us; I always remind people of our firmly rooted policy based on religious tolerance”, he said.
He believed that the awardee deserve it by reason of his uncommon qualities that do not give room for any form of racial, religious or cultural discrimination.
“Our recepient had achieved greatly in nation building youth empowerment, focused leadership, Intergrity, community development, philantropic gesture among others” He added.
Responding, the awardee, Eze Patrick Anyanwu said the award will ginger him to do more in not just the area of Peace building but tolerance as our oneness is not negotiable irrespective of tribe, religion or any other affiliation.
He said, he would have rejected it until he heard of the source which includes late first Prime Minister of Nigeria and Bauchi born, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa whose contribution to National development remains indelible.
“Many awards have come to me but I said I don’t need it, but when I heard the foundation of this honour, I said they are not just out standing for Northern development but Nigeria as a whole and they are the kind of leaders we need even today” he said.
In his remarks, President General of Igbo Community Association Chidi Chukwunta said the gesture is not a surprise as the awardee is a preacher of peace and tolerance among others.
