One week before leaving, University of Jos Vice Chancellor rates Mass Communication department high

Vice Chancellor, University of Jos, Professor Sebastian Maimako

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Sebastian Maimako has rated Mass Communication Department of the institution high in performance even as he set to bow out of office Wednesday, barely a week.

Professor Maimako gave this rating when the department paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Wednesday.

According to him, the department is always ahead among others in the entire Faculty of Arts and beyond in fulfilling her academic obligations in record time which is credited to the hard work of it’s staff.

The Vice Chancellor added that this was the major justification for granting approval to many of her requests.

He further expressed delight on the praise and prayers showered on him during the visit adding that it will be memorable to him that the department visited him exactly one week to take a bow out of office as University of Jos Vice Chancellor.

Earlier, the Head, Department of Mass Communication, Dr. Geoffrey Danaan explained that the purpose of the visit is to appreciate the Vice Chancellor in a special way for his numerous achievement particularly the listening ear he accorded the Department.

Dr. Danaan recounted several areas the Vice Chancellor has assisted the department which they cannot take for granted.

According to him, the department has enjoyed many favour in his sight and God the best rewarder will smile at him back in his future ventures.

Climax of the visit was presentation of an award of excellence performance to the Vice Chancellor indicating a pictorial highlights of his vast achievements.

Prominent personalities at the visit was the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, Professor Tanko Ishaya, former heads of Department of Mass Communication including Professor Augustin Enahoro described as the father of the department among others.
