Outgoing Chairperson of the Northern Governors’ Wives, Dr Amina Bello hands over to her successor, Hajiya Hadiza El-Rufai
The immediate past Chairperson
Northern Governors wives forum, Dr Amina Abubakar Bello has enjoined wives of Governors in the Northern part of the country “not to take their eyes off the ball” in their determined effort to improve the lives of women and children.
A statement by Rabi Bello, the Chief Press Secretary, said her principal, Dr Amina Abubakar Bello made the plea at the just concluded quarterly meeting of the forum which held at the Niger State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.
She pointed out that, during her tenure she was able with the support of her colleagues, to among several initiatives, champion advocacy and programmes that would make lives better for the vulnerable particularly women and children and those who are affected by the unfortunate incidents of banditry and kidnappings which have swept across the northern part of the country.
Dr Amina Abubakar Bello then appealed to political parties in the country “to consider giving additional support to women to effectively participate in partisan politics so as to positively contribute to nation building”.
She appreciated the support and cooperation she enjoined from members during her two years tenure and urged them to extend more of such gesture to her successor.
