Organizations, individuals urges to reconstruct destroyed houses in Zangon Kataf

Philanthropic organizations and public spirited individuals have been urged to consider the possibility of assisting in reconstructing destroyed houses during recent crises in Atyap Chiefdom to enable displaced owners of such houses return.

The Chairman of the Atyap Chiefdom Peace and Security Partnership Committee, (ACPSPC), Mr John Bala Gora made the appealed during the monthly meeting of the committee held at the Agwatyap palace at Atak Njei, Zangon Kataf.

Mr JB Gora who lamented over the untold hardship the displaced persons that include the Atyap and Fulani, were passing through, said the situation required urgent attention to resettle the victims, especially the Fulani that fled the area and want to return.

The Committee Chairman stressed the importance of showing love to one another, particularly among all residents of the Atyap Chiefdom, irrespective of tribe and religion to consolidate on the normalcy that had since returned to the Chiefdom.

While appreciating all members of the committee for the relentless efforts and high sense of commitment to the task of returning peace to the chiefdom and building confidence, Bala Gora called on them to make more frantic efforts at uniting the people.

The meeting emphasized the need for experts in peace building to hold a meeting between Atyap, Hausa and Fulani youths, particularly from Abuyap, Matiyei villages and Hausa and Fulani from Zango Urban, for them to dialogue and bring to an end frequent threats to life in that axis.

Reports from various sub communities reflecting the level of progress or otherwise were also received to enable the main committee renew strategies in its efforts to achieve enduring peace in the chiefdom.
