Bauchi Speaker commissions alumni projects at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi

Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y Suleiman has commissioned renovated and refurbishment projects executed by the Alumni Association of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi.
Commissioning the projects which include the refurbished Polytechnic Gate and other offices attached on Friday, the Speaker commended the Association for giving back to the Institution that nurtured them to greatness.
Abubakar Suleiman said that, “If individuals and association like this will be given back to the society, there will be a lot of development” . 
He added that, “Nowadays, is a time we shouldn’t fold our arms and wait to get everything from government. We have to contribute towards the development of our society like what the Alumni Association did.”.
Abubakar Y Suleiman also expressed his satisfaction on the synergy existing between the Institution and Bauchi State Government, saying the relationship is already yielding positive result for the people of the State and they will continue partnering with the Polytechnic in all its activities.
While commending the Association for the strategic choice of the intervention projects, the Speaker who is also an alumnus of the Polytechnic urged its leaders to maintain the zeal and tempo.
In his remarks, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Architect Sanusi Waziri Gumau thanked the Speaker for honouring the invitation of the Association despite his tight schedule, describing the gesture as sign of commitment and love for the Polytechnic.
He also commended the Bauchi State Government for what it has been doing to the Polytechnic in the area of security and other collaborations for the development of the Institution.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Association, Muhammad Mansur explained that they executed the projects in order to payback to the Institution that produced them.
According to him, the Association has been inactive for many years but the current leadership decided to restrategize and revive the Association by registering it with Corporate Affairs Commission and engaging in discussions with alumnus of the Polytechnic in which they contributed to upgrade the Polytechnic Gate and attached offices as well as construction of Drawing Studio for the School of Engineering.
He called on all the alumni members of the Polytechnic all over the world to contribute to the development of the Polytechnic as contained in a statement by Abdul Ahmad Burra, Spokesperson to the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly.
