Sabeerash Foundation, a non-governmental organization founded by the wife of the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hajiya Rashida Abubakar Y. Suleiman has donated food items and clothes to the needy in Balma Ward of Ningi local Government.
Speaking during the disbursement ceremony which took place in Balma on Saturday, Hajiya Rashida explained that the gesture is part of her Foundation’s efforts to mitigate the economic hardship being faced the less privileged.
According to her, many households in the country are struggling to get food and other livelihood amidst hike of price of commodities and declined revenue, thus her decision to offer a helping hand to the community by donating the items which include; clothes, shoes and millet.
The Speaker’s wife who said she secured some of the materials from MAHEMA a Bauchi based non-governmental organization, assured Balma community of the determination of her Foundation and her husband to continue initiating programmes that will improve their well-being and bring development to their doorsteps.
In his remarks the Village Head of Balma, Alh Hussaini Saleh commended the efforts of the Speaker’s wife and her Foundation for the uncommon kindness showered on his communities.
While urging her and other donor groups to embark on community reoriented programmes that have direct bearings with rural dwellers, the traditional ruler appealed to the beneficiaries to judiciously use the items.
Speaking unbehalf of the beneficiaries Umar Adamu applauded the organization for coming to their aid and prayed to Almighty Allah bless the Speaker’s wife and her husband and grant all their desires as contained in a statement by Abdul Ahmad BurraSpokesperson to the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly.
