Very Rev Fr Cyril Ayobode Fanaiye
By Bernard Balogun (BenPino)
In December 14, 1963, a boy was born into the home of late Pa Peter and late mama Angelina Fanaiye in a sleeping town of Ogbmo, in the present East Yagba LGA of Kogi State. There were no comets, yet he has his destiny cut out for him. And like the stars that led the three wise men to where Jesus laid in the manger at birth, as contained in the Bible, so the vicissitude of life helped to navigate and mould our celebrant from his days at St Clement Minor Seminary, Lokoja onto St Augustine Major Seminary in Jos. It has been indeed a tedious journey to priesthood. In spite the difficult and frustrating experiences along the way, God was, and still is, with Padre, and he was eventually ordained a Priest of the Catholic Church, Lokoja Diocese in August 11, 1990. Indeed, for Very Rev Fr Cyril Ayobode Fanaiye it is a dream come true. It therefore means Padre has spent 31 solid years in God’s vineyard. In between, he had the privilege to further his studies at the Urbanian University Rome, which qualifies him as authority in Canon Laws of the Church.
It is therefore a delight and indeed a pleasure to join parishioners of Ss Michael, Gabriel & Raphael Church, Gadumo, Lokoja, Kogi State in rejoicing and celebrating their Parish Priest, Very Rev Fr Cyril Ayobode Fanaiye, as he celebrates his 31st priestly Ordination in the prestigious Vineyard of God.
Padre may God continue to uphold you in good health, grant you fresh anointing and wisdom to confront the challenges ahead. God’s protection shall be your portion as you go and come.
Ad multos annos.
