As a way of expanding its operations across the country, Air Peace Airlines on Wednesday commenced flight operations to Gombe in order to make the route a viable option.
The inaugural flight of the Air Peace aircraft which took off from Murtala Mohammed international Airport Lagos and landed safely at the Sani Abacha International Airport, Gombe at about 5.30 pm on Wednesday with the Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and others on board.
The aircraft was met on arrival by some too government functionaries led by the state Drdeputy Governor, Dr Manasseh Jatau who expressed happiness that the state is gradually becoming a hub of business activities.
The Deputy Governor, Dr Manasseh Jatau said that the Air Peace with the Registration number B4-443 is landing in the state with joy and returning water to the ocean which is it’s place of origin.
An elated Deputy Governor added that, “ Air Peace has come to the state that share peace, preaches peace and working continuously for the maintenance of peace”.
He described Air Peace as the bedrock of human activities saying, “we equally know the importance of transportation to human race that engages in the movement of persons, good and services.The state has a cement factory that is functional and very soon another one will take off”.
He also said that investors are willing to come to Gombe following the ongoing construction of Muhammadu Buhari Industrial park assuring that, ”Very soon you will have to book a bigger aircraft because of investors.
The Deputy Governor further assured that, the state will continue to partner with them as they provide the essential service and wish them peace in the air.
Speaking earlier, the Ground Operations Manager of Air Peace Airlines, Mr.Ayodeji Adeyemi said that before deciding to commence the flight to Gombe, the Airline carefully considered the travel needs of Nigerians especially those in the North East subregion .
He said that, “Our consistent route expansion is propelled by our strong resolve to close the loopholes in Nigeria’s air travel. With the new routes, we are providing more option of connectivity for the people of Gombe State,”.
Ayodeji Adeyemi assured the people of Gombe that the new route will effectively serve Nigerians and Gombe residents in particular saying that, “We will jointly work with all the stakeholders in the state to maximize the gains of the Gombe route including employment creations,”.
The Grounds Operations Manager thanked Governor Inuwa Yahaya under whose leadership the launch of the new route was achieved as well as Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN and the NigerianCivil Aviation Authority NCAA among other stakeholders who contributed to the commencement of the new route.
