COVID-19: Bauchi receives 100,292 doses of Moderna vaccines for second phase of vaccination

Bauchi State Government has received a total of 100,292 doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to be administered to members of the public across the state in the second phase of the vaccination against COVID-19 pandemic.
The disclosure was made by the Executive Chairman of Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BASPHCDA), Dr. Rilwan Mohammed, while speaking to our Correspondent after the flag-off ceremony of the second phase of the vaccination in Bauchi.
Rilwanu Mohammed said that the vaccines were received by the state government last Wednesday adding that the target is to go round the 20 LGAs to meet people at the grassroots for the vaccination exercise.
As Chairman, Contact and Surveillance Sub-Committee of the Task Force on COVID-19 Task, he said that plans have been concluded to start the administration of the vaccines on Saturday across the state.
He said that: “We have received our vaccines, they are in our custody. They were brought to us on Wednesday. We received a total of 100,292 doses of Moderna vaccines from the National Primary Health Care Development Agency and we will”. 
He also said that, “We will begin the second phase of vaccinations tomorrow, Saturday across the state. We have over a 150 teams of medical personnels that we had earlier trained. We’ll be deploying them to the field across the 20 local government areas of the state for the exercise”.
According to him, “We are currently training some more personnels that we will use for the exercise but that will still not stop us from starting tomorrow.”
Rilwanu Mohammed then called on all Bauchi residents who have not been vaccinated to come out and be vaccinated stressing that about from the minor reaction according to individuals, the vaccine is very potent against the novel COVID-19 infection.
