Traditional rulers in Gombe Central meet, restate unflinching support, loyalty to Governor Inuwa’s leadership

Barely 24 hours after the All Progressives Congress, (APC) stakeholders in Gombe Central Senatorial District met and passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his political sagacity and magnanimity as well as his avowed commitment to the growth of the party and the state in general, traditional rulers in the zone also converged on Kumo on Monday, discussed and issued a 6- point communique, reiterating their unflinching support and loyalty to his administration’s efforts in uplifting the State to greater heights.
The Communique was read by the Lamido of Akko, Alhaji Umar Atiku thus:
“In furtherance to the pursuit of our collective desire as traditional rulers and custodians of our cultural heritage in ensuring the overall maintenance of peace, unity, stability and progress of our respective communities, Gombe State and the nation as a whole.”

The communique further contained that, “We, the Emirs alongside our District Heads of Gombe Central Senatorial District, having met, discussed and reviewed the current happenings in the state as they positively impact on the lives of our people under the leadership of our amiable Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya”:
The traditional rulers stated also that, “We restate and re-affirm our unflinching loyalty to his administration’s efforts in uplifting our state to greater heights. As traditional rulers, we shall continue to support the overall policies and programmes of the administration” .
They further stared that, “We wish to acknowledge that for the first time in the history of the State, the State Government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has directed and implemented an upward review of our remuneration and welfare”.
“As traditional heads of our various communities who are closer to the grassroots, we must commend the state Governor on the way and manner he handles the issue of security dispassionately, thus making our roles easier as peace is a necessary prerequisite for development”, they stated further.
According to the communique, “Equally, as traditional rulers and custodians of our culture, we deem it right to appeal to all our politicians to shun the politics of violence, thuggery, bitterness and divisive tendencies among the political class. On our part, we resolved to maintain our sacred integrity and image by being non-partisan”.
“We further commend and appreciate Governor Inuwa Yahaya’ s positive perfornmance and result-oriented policies that have direct bearing on our people in all sectors”, they added.
The Emir concluded that, “We finally resolved to individually and collectively cultivate more areas of genuine co-operation and relationship amongst us and to explore avenues towards maintaining peaceful co-existence among our people, irrespective of tribe, religion or sect in line with the spirit of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s determination to provide good governance and leadership by example in the State”.
