Rev. Pam in deep prayers for Nigeria at Mount Nebo during the Christian pilgrimage to Jordan
By Anthony Maliki
The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. (Dr.) Yakubu Pam has condemned in totality the gruesome killings of over 35 Plateau citizens at Kunga of Zangam, behind Naraguta village near Jos on midnight of August 25, 2021 saying “Plateau cannot be turned into a graveyard while we are still alive.”
Some houses, churches and primary school were torched during the attack.
In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, Pam Ayuba to Apex News Exclusive, Rev. Pam said the scenario certainly was not what was inherited as a cherished heritage.
According to the statement, the government must do all within its powers to fish out those behind the killings and must ensure proper justice is done to address the in-balance in the security of each tribe and religion.
Rev. Pam noted that government must realize every citizen has a right to live and must, as an imperative, be treated with fairness.
“I dare say in very strong terms the life of every tribe and kindred is equal before the eyes of God and there’s no blue, white, or black blood. All human blood runs in the same vein and is red,” the NCPC Executive Secretary explained.
He described what is happening in Plateau as a deliberate attempt to annihilate a people and paying lip service must be stopped to gratify the whims and caprices of sponsors of bloodletting, not in Plateau or anywhere.
Rev. Pam called on the government to be more proactive in securing the lives of its citizens and apprehend the known culprits, serve them with justice and restore hope to the people.
The statement added that the act of willful killing rising daily in Plateau State and elsewhere in Nigeria must stop and should be condemned by all and not be left as if it’s a concern of those reduced as second-class citizens.
He pointed out that no human being is superior to the other as all have the same measure and quantity of blood as humans created by God which must be accepted and live together as one people.
He commiserated with the Governor of Plateau State, the people, and more importantly, the families of those victims affected in the horrible carnage.
