GEEP 2.0: Nasarawa Governor’s aide on Humanitarian Services, Imran urges applicants to register at local government secretariats

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Nasarawa State on Humanitarian Services, Hon. Imran Usman Jibrin, has called on citizens of the state, to take advantage by applying for the Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP 2.0).
Hon Imran, who doubles as the Focal Person for the National Social Investment in the state, made the call during the launch of the GEEP, held at the International Conference Centre, in Abuja.
The event was flagged off by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar, on Tuesday.
While imploring Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMOs) to commence registration of market clusters, associations, individuals at the local government under their watch immediately, Imran said GEEP 2.0 is a Social Investment Programme initiated by Federal Government to bring socioeconomic relief to the vulnerable.
He stressed that all the intended applicants in Nasarawa State should approach their respective local governments’ Secretariat at their various local government areas to register and get enumerated.
He noted that the exercise is done by registration and enumeration of applicants, pointing out that no form is required during the registration exercise.
“There should be no sharing of forms in any kind to the interested applicants as registration is strictly/directly in the register for now.
“He encourage beneficiaries to form themselves into groups and register as an associations or Cooperatives.
Thus, GEEP is an interest free loan grant established by federal government to be given to the population who are skilled but unemployed, residing at all local government areas across the state. The GEEP is innovatively targeted and delivered under three unique products. The TraderMoni for marginalized youth, MarketMoni for vulnerable women and the FarmerMoni specifically for rural farmers.
