University of Sussex, VBank, Edugist, others offer N3m to support students with business ideas

The University of Sussex, VBank, Africa Plus Partners as well as AfriInvest and Windsworth Hostel are sponsoring the second edition of The Nigerian Students Prize venture.
Edugist Consults are the brain behind the project which started in 2019 with students winning such mouthwatering prizes, and who are today thriving business owners in different states of the country.
Elvis Boniface, the principal partner of Edugist who briefed journalists in Calabar they were currently receiving applications from both undergraduates and graduates who would be invited to pitch and defence such business ideas before a panel of entrepreneurs and sponsors.
He disclosed that enterprising University students in Nigeria who have workable business ideas will receive N3million to drive such to desirable heights.
He also disclosed that top prize winner this year will proceed to represent Nigeria at University Startup World Cup in Denmark and China where 100 other scholars from other universities across the world will equally pitch their business ideas to win $15,000.
“At the close of application deadline 20 finalists will be shortlisted and camped at a one week Bootcamp for intense training on different aspect of practical business education; understanding the business, environment, business proposal that convert and even more. “
Boniface said 20 finalists would be selected for a one week Bootcamp in Calabar on December 4.
“The prize will also provide opportunities for winners to have access to entrepreneurs, sponsors and assistance. Grand finale will hold in Calabar on December 4, 2021 after one week Bootcamp.
“The programme is designed to empower the most advance yet simple entrepreneurial ventures by Nigerian undergraduate and graduate students.
“The prize will identify the innate talents and technology of creative young Nigerians for tomorrow.”
The first edition held in 2019 was singlehandedly sponsored by Africa Plus Partners.
