Bauchi First Lady’s Almuhibba Foundation signs MoU with UniMaid, Kadpoly on entrepreneurship education

Almuhibba Foundation run by the Bauchi State First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Lami Bala Mohammed has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Maiduguri and Kaduna Polytechnic on the promotion of Entrepreneurship education aimed at equipping people for self reliance. 

With the signing of the MOU, the Almuhibba Institute founded by the  First Lady is now affiliated with the two institutions for the award of diploma, and Postgraduate certificate education with focus on entrepreneurship.
While signing the MoU on Thursday in Bauchi, Aisha Bala Mohammed said that, “Education is the first priority for every human being. That is how it is all over the world and even in the Qur’an. Everybody who wants to be wealthy and become a leader, must first become educated,”. 
The First Lady also said that the Institute was affiliated with the two famous institutions In a bid to foster the continuous development of entrepreneurship education amongst its students to equip them with skills and competencies to become future entrepreneurs. 
She further said that the institution is geared to build startups with creative and innovative ideas and propel entrepreneurship leveraging on ICT in Africa’s emerging market.


According to her, the Institute was partnering with the University for the development and promotion of entrepreneurship and internship among the students to be exposed for practical skills acquisition methodologies.
“We recognized the intent of the university, and the Kaduna Polytechnic which are fully entrenched in entrepreneurship development, therefore, we felt the need to associate with them and add value in creating future entrepreneurs”, she stressed.
She added that, “Signing this MOU with Almuhibba Institute is a beginning to nurture the students for their future endeavours and promote entrepreneurship culture among the youth of Bauchi State and Nigeria” . 
In their separate remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of University of Maiduguri represented by Dr Sheriff Umar and the Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic who was also represented by Dr Nasiru Bello, Head of Kaduna Polytechnic Consultancy Services expressed appreciation on the official MoU signing ceremony and encouraged the institute to ensure that the MoU remains active.
The VC said that, “For us, teaching entrepreneurship has been one of the core components in all of our curriculum because we want to train students to make a difference in their life skills through knowledge, skills and value-based education”. 
The Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic pledged to monitor the activities of the institute closely to ensure that they are doing the right things and expressed satisfaction with the quality of teachers and learning and instructional materials that Almuhibba Institute have which they described as excellent. 
The occasion was witnessed by a representative from all the tertiary institutions in Bauchi State.
