Women have been advised to put more efforts towards effective farming for massive food production in Nigeria.
The National President of Women in Agriculture in kogi State, Mrs Esther Audu gave the advice while speaking to our correspondent in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
President said agriculture production become imperative in view of the hardship faced in the recent times in the society.
Mrs Audu explained women can embark on so many clusters farming, mushroom, plantain, rice, cassava, tomatoes and pepper among others are key to reduce hunger and improve economic potential in the country.
She advised women in agriculture in the twenty one local government areas to intensify efforts towards achieving excellent in food production.
The National President called on both state and the Federal governments to assist women in agriculture to improve food for all, nothing that women play active role in farming.
Mrs Audu commended the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his maximum support to agriculture in the state called on the people to continue to support his administration at all times.
According to her, some state governor’s in the country were working accidiciously to ensure that women in agriculture were recognize and assisted of farm tool’s and implements to enable them actualize their dream.
