The Head of Department, (HOD) of Agriculture of Kibiya Local Government Council in Kano State, Jibrin Satiyaru says its trail brazing record in sugarcane, onions and potatoes production is as a result of the massive support it has enjoyed from Kano State Government.
He spoke exclusively to Apex News Exclusive at the ongoing annual National Agricultural Show holding at Uke in Karu LGA of Nasarawa State when the online news agency came calling.
Satiyaru said for the past 10 years the local governments has been a consistent exhibitor at the show ground due agro based policies and programmes administered by the state government to the people of the local government.
“Kibiya Local Government is an agrarian area, with suitable land for farming. Government is always supporting our farmers, with technology, with innovations, with guide and whatever the farmers are in need of.
“That is why we are producing sugarcane, Onions, Sweet Potatoes and other farm produce in this large scales. Our land is fertile, the topography is conducive for all farm produce. Kano State Government is also very supportive. They have have been sponsoring us every year to come here to showcase our produce. We are grateful and we thank them on behalf of the farming communities of the local government.
“We are now generating more revenue and creation massive employment for our youths than ever before” he said.
