Gombe proposes N154.6b budget estimates for 2022 fiscal year

Gombe State Governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, on Thursday, presented the sum of N154,610,614,000.00 as appropriation for the 2022 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly.
Tagged “Budget of Consolidation”, the Governor said that, ” this is because we intend to consolidate on the gains made over the past 2 and half Years in the service of our people”.
While addressing the Legislature, Inuwa Yahaya said that the proposal is made up of N69,117,214,000.00 as recurrent expenditure representing 44.7% of the total budget while N85,493,400,000.00 stands for capital expenditure which represents 55.3% of the budget sum.
The Governor said that, “this is envisaged to be financed by the sum of N73,626,789,000.00” as well as capital receipts of N79,865,000,000.00 expected and an estimated closing balance of N4,881,175,000.00.
On the sectoral allocation, the economic Sector sector got a total sum of N57,913,100,000.00; Social Sector got the sum of N20,599,200,000.00, General Administration N4,374,000,000.00while Law and Justice got the sum of N2,607,100,000.00.
The Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Mohammad Abubakar Luggerewo, assured the Governor that having fulfilled a vital constitutional requirement of scrutinizing his submission for subsequent passage into law based on section 121 of the constitution, the House will give it an expeditious legislative scrutiny and passage to enable him continue to implement all his laudable development policies and programmes.
