Group lauds Nasarawa Governor, Sule for inclusive governance
Governor Sule of Nasarawa State
A group under the aegis of Migili APC stakeholders in Nasarawa State, on Friday, lauded Gov Abdullahi Sule’s disposition to inclusive governance.
The group led by Mr Sonny Agassi, an APC chieftain gave the commendation at a press conference in Lafia.
Agassi who is also the Director General of Nasarawa Geographic Information System (NAGIS), said that the Sule -led administration had been generous towards the Migili ethnic nationality.
He denied the purported marginalisation of the ethnic group by the Gov Sule administration as recently alleged by the chairman of the Migili Cultural Development Association, Dr Philip Ajeh.
He said that there was no time where critical stakeholders in Migili Nation gathered and decided that they should cry out over alleged lopsided appointment in the State’s Executive Council.
According to Agassi, the Miligli APC Stakeholders and the generality of Migili people appreciated the several high-ranking appointments they got under the Gov Sule -led government in the state.
“Far from being neglected, the Migili Nation has a fair share of representation in this government for which we should be grateful to Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his magnanimity,” he said.
Agassi noted that the governor nominated Commissioners to serve in the State’s Executive Council, representing the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.
He, however, said the state has over 20 ethnic groups, which could not be accommodated in a 15 – member cabinet, adding that Migili were well represented in other government appointments.
Agassi pointed out that apart from himself as D-G NAGIS, other Migili personalities occupying key positions under the present administration included Dr Magaji Ibrahim, Special Adviser to governor on Science and Technology, Alh. Jibrin Koro, Personal Assistant to the governor, and Dr Ishaya Awotu, Chairman, Governing Board of the College of Education, Akwanga.
Others are Mr Bulus Amoyi, Permanent Secretary, Nasarawa State Civil Service Commission, Surv. Ishaya Makama, acting Surveyor – General of Nasarawa State, Mr Aloko Flashman, acting General Manager, Nasarawa Broadcasting Service and Mr Jonathan Jarme, member, state Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board among others.
Agassi said the aforementioned facts clearly faulted Dr Ajeh’s allegation against the governor whose administration had demonstrated fairness and justice to every segment of the diverse people of Nasarawa State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Migili Cultural Development Association had recently accused Gov Sule of lopsided appointment of the state executive members. (NAN)
