Benue Road Safety Sector Command, 24 Hours Road Accident Victims Initiative collaborate for safer Christmas, New Year celebrations

The Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps in it’s efforts to up the ante on rescue operation during the yuletide is collaborating with an NGO, 24HRS Road Accident Victims Support Initiative (24HRS TRAVSI) the first NGO to offer rescue services in Benue state, North Central.
In a release signed by Assistant Route Commander MO Oladele, the Command’s Public Education Officer, assured members of the public the Command’s readiness to offer 24hrs rescue service this yuletide in collaboration with 24HRS TRAVSI.


The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Yakubu Mohammad stated that; a state-of-the-art ambulance has been strategically stationed at the notorious SRS junction in North Bank Makurdi in collaboration with TRAVSI and Red Cross for prompt rescue operation while personnel of the Command would be strategically deployed at crash prone locations across the state.
Mr Mohammad who was in receipt of Honourable Gadafi M Asemanya on courtesy visit in his office, commended the selfless sacrifice and the wonderful initiative of offering rescue service to victims of Road TrafficCrash in Benue state by the organization so as to complement the efforts of the Federal Road Safety Corps.

He likened the wonderful initiative of Hon. Asemanya to that of the Good Samaritan in the Bible.
The Commander warned motorists to desist from speeding, overloading, distractive driving, use of phone while driving/riding, as well as desperation and aggression while on wheels.
He further stated that the Command will not relent on it’s efforts to get rid of killer drivers that causes carnage in Benue state by arresting drunk drivers and unlicensed drivers during the yuletide.
