Bauchi Governor, Mohammed takes Christmas, new year break, interacts with community in Alkaleri

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed spent the Christmas and new year celebrations to embark on a working visit to his local government area,  Alkaleri where he held meetings and parleys with stakeholders in the area.
The meetings which were mostly held away from the glare of the press, was seen as a move to deepening Stakeholders engagement and strengthening community relations in running the affairs of his administration.
During the period, the Governor was able to interact with leaders and members of various communities, groups of youth and women with a view to ensuring that the dividends of democracy got to the people at the grassroot level.
In one of the meetings he held with a gathering at Duguri, his hometown, the Governor said that his leadership style is providing opportunity for people to express their feelings and suggest better areas for government’s intervention towards improving their lives.
He noted that plans are underway towards providing more infrastructure in towns and villages as well as construction of access road from Maina Maji to Pali and that of Duguri to Gwana districts in the Local Government Area.
On the part of the meeting was The state First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed whose address centred on the welfare of women and children, charging them to take advantage of skills acquisition centre provided in the area to enhance their productivity.
She however promised to upgrade the centre with more facilities for effective service delivery stressing that the best thing that can be done is to teach someone how to catch fish so that he/she will be able to live an independent life.
In their Goodwill messages, the Chairman of the local council, Yusuf Garba and District Head of Duguri, Ibrahim Y.M Baba described the Governor’s visit as commendable.
The spoke differently but agreed that community engagement is the best way to govern people because it gives them a sense of belonging which in turn makes administration easier and result oriented.
They pledged their continuous support and cooperation to the Governor and his administration to enable it deliver its campaign promises to the people of the state.
Bala Mohammed used the opportunity to inspect the newly constructed palace of the District Head of Duguri where he expressed satisfaction with quality of the work done.
