Dr. Paul Angya

The New Deal Project is truly new in content and approach. It has all it takes for a people to achieve development and transformation in a shortest possible time. The New Deal is vast in approach and can be satisfying in all aspects of human endeavour if implemented to the letter. The American New Deal is 90 years old today in America, but just about to be birthed in Benue state which is 46 years old today.

The 90 year old American New Deal is tested, trusted and accepted by the Government and people of America, and it serves as a key outstanding feature of the American New Deal, where the people became happy as a result of a common transformation birthed by a focused democrat, Franklin Roosevelt.

Significantly, the Deal is about to be put to test by Dr Paul Tavershima Angya, a frontline governorship aspirant who has traversed all the corners of this country to formulate policies and programs (encapsulated in the document) that can greatly improve the lot of the Benue people after 46 years of its existence.

We as a people need to critically look at this New Deal by Dr Angya to see the unique outstanding features that are embedded in the document. The implementation of this document is going to be of great advantage to the state. The policy document is bound to usher in standard and quality development in the state (given that Dr Paul Angya is an expert in the fields of standards and quality regulation). This is the more reason we must work hard to emplace this leadership seed that has wrought such a wonderful vision that will translate to better life for us all.

Remember, where there is no Vision, there is no Mission. Here, we have a vision that worked so well for the people of America. Angya, the man with the vision for development has adopted the New Deal that will move us forward in the area of infrastructure, economic advancement, agricultural mechanization, industrialization, job creations and empowerment for the benefit of Benue people.

Already the political wind has blown and the feathers of all contestants have opened, but what some of us see is just the desperation for leadership and not the zeal for taking over leadership. Dr Angya has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he is well prepared to govern the state with a clear vision and mission in sight with his New Deal policies and programs in hand.

It will interest you to know that Dr Angya is the only aspirant that has unveiled his policy document (since April 2021) for public scrutiny, while many who are critics have confirmed the document is first of it’s kind in Benue state. The document is spiced with loads of ideas and direction that will surely move our state to greatness. It is a document that has shown in itself the way, the road and the finance to police and execute the job. A document with security assurance, which has been the major issue confronting the state currently.

Critically important is the fact that Dr Angya as a renowned security expert – a fellow of Security Institute, capped with his legal experience spanning over 35 years, armed with a doctorate degree in law with specialty in standardization. This man remains the man to beat at the polls if the Benue people could see beyond their noses, in my estimation, the security situation will be degraded beyond recognition within the shortest possible days of his administration.

The New Deal emphasizes collective and participatory process of policy and project execution. The execution of New Deal Project is what defines and paints a real picture of ‘Democracy’; – government of the people, for the people and by the people.

The New Deal is democratic, participatory by all, a call for all to rise up and do the needful for their fatherland, and for the benefit of all. It is selfless, motivating, a reminder and challenge for us to rise up in demonstration of the spirit of oneness to attract development unto ourselves by ourselves. The approach is unique and new as opposed to what we have witnessed since the return of democracy in 1999.

Dr Paul Angya’s administration, using his New Deal policy document is going to lead with a new approach to governance, where deliberate steps in creating and sustaining development of all human kind would be achieved. The face of democracy will be utilized and the people shall remain beneficial to the dividends of democracy that will emanate as a product of the New Deal policy document.

The good news about the New Deal policy is its capacity to make available avenues that can offer the template for Dr Angya to harness the huge resources and potentials that abound in the state. This will integrate and position the state both at the local and international level and in all sectors of the economy .

The New Deal document also provides for revenue generation where agro allied industries will be created to turn our raw materials like mangoes, tomatoes, oranges and yams into finished product ready for exportation.

The state revenue generation will also be adequately harnessed through effective utilization of one system monatory policy to give room for businessmen and women in the state to strive better rather than discouraging them through multiple tax payment on our roads across the state.

It is quite revealing that the document has also made provision for subsidy loans to farmers to reduce the high cost of farm produce while agro chemicals will also be provided at subsistence level to encourage farming and to restore the state’s status of food basket of the nation.

Looking at his New Deal policy, I am strongly convinced that supporting Dr Angya to deliver on his mandate, won’t be placed as his mandate is guaranteed to lift Benue to the next level.

Based on these credible attributes of this ready to go aspirant, Dr Angya in all fairness stands tall, and has distinguished himself among all candidates and the rest is left for us to ensure that he clinches the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party and proceeds to win the governorship seat for Benue state come 2023.
