A man, Timipade Kemepade has written to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, (JAMB) to plead for forgiveness over examination malpractices he committed when he sat for course for the University Matriculation Examination (UME)(as UTME was known then) twenty-one years ago.

Kemepade in his letter to JAMB clearly confessed his involvement in examination malpractices and blamed his misconduct to youthful exuberance.

The letter read in part: “With regret and sincere apology to JAMB, I, Timipade Kemepade, with Certificate No; 33208808GA confess that I participated in examination malpractices 21 years ago while sitting my JAMB examination. I sincerely regret my youthful exuberance”.

The Board, in it reply to Kemepade, stated that his apology and consequent admission of guilt were “rejected in their entirety and are therefore not admissible”.

The Board also told him that the only condition for acceptance of his apology is his willingness to forfeit all the certificates he has fraudulently acquired with the UME result.
