Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Birno state Thursday, flagged off the construction of eight roads and two bridges at a contract sum of N11.5bn in Maiduguri, the capital of the state.
The construction works are to be executed by a Chinese company namely, Eighteenth Engineering Company (EEC) and a Borno-based construction company, Obtuse Tech Engineering Company Limited after due process was observed.
Performing the flag-off at the popular Post Office Round-about on Ahmadu Bello Way in a colourful ceremony to decongest the heavy vehicular traffic in the metropolis with the Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur and the SSG, Usman Shuwa in attendance.
Others are the State APC Chairman, Ali Dalori, commissioners, top government officials, site engineers and other technical persons.
