It was jubilation galore among supporters of Dr Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna who exited the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State on Wednesday describing the development as a welcome back home.
The action of the astute politician is eliciting great applause and excitement from his supporters who had expected this to happen long before now considering the stand of the APC in the state.

Many of them had earlier been appealing to him to leave the APC because they allege that they will not get justice from the APC party, especially as the Governor was believed to have pocketed all the Executive members in the entire State.
Dr. Jamilu Gwamna , a former Governorship aspirant in the PDP before the 2019 general election, who dumped the PDP after the primaries with thousands of his supporters, said that his sojourn in the APC has come to an end.
The chieftain has therefore tendered his resignation from being a member of the APC in Gombe State through the APC Ward chairman of Jekadafari ward on Tuesday, 1st February, 2022.
In the resignation letter, a copy which was made available to our Correspondent in Gombe, Jamilu Gwamna explained that he made the decision after wide consultation with his family, political associates and supporters.
Although he did not state reasons for dumping the party, his supporters who spoke with our correspondent alleged that APC leadership in the state has taken side with the incumbent Governor of the state Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya.
He did not also state his next political direction but speculations are rife that he may be returning to the PDP.
One of the close supporters of Gwamna, Isa Kaltungo, said in some Local Government Areas visited by Governor Yahaya, some stakeholders and party executives flagrantly endorsed the governor for second time, a situation that does not augur well for the party.
According to him, that was an indication that the party would not provide fair playing ground for all Governorship aspirants in the next primary elections.
