Governor Mohammed watches Wikki Tourists FC play Nassarawa United FC at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium

The Bauchi State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN) has commended the State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed for promising to improve on the welfare of players of the state owned Wikki Tourists FC.
The SWAN also commended the Governor for personally coming to the stadium to watch the match against Nassarawa United FC which the host, Wikki FC won.
The Association further thanked the Governor for donating the sum of N100,000 as wining bonus to each of the players after the victory over visiting Nassarawa United FC last Sunday.
SWAN However, is calling on the State Government to quickly investigate how the bonus given was shared among the beneficiaries .
This according to SWAN became necessary following series of Complaints by a cross section of football lovers, who alleged that the money was shared inappropriately.
Meanwhile, SWAN in Bauchi state called the attention of some mischief makers who are trying to drag the Association into their local politics to desist from doing so, as SWAN remains a critical stakeholder in sports development and guided by ethics as contained in a statement by Mahmud Yakubu Mohammed, Chairman and Bala Bawaji Konkyel, Secretary.
