The Vice Chancellor, University of Jos, Professor Tanko Ishaya has admonished fresh students of the institution to turn blind eye to any act that portend prostitution, cultism or distraction throughout their study duration.

Ishaya gave this counsel on Monday in an orientation programme organised for the 2020/2021 Academic session students to get them acquainted with basics of excellence performance after their various programmes.

Represented by the Dean of the Directorate of student affairs, Dr. Dami Filibus, the VC said, “You must disengage yourselves from anything that will distract you from focusing in your studies; prostitution, cultism, malpractice or any other social vice.

“You are the future leaders and must make yourself a good ambassador of the University anywhere you go, and this can only be done when you focus on your studies”, he said.

Other Heads of Units on the instance of the Vice Chancellor gave detailed information about various services units and departments in the University available to aid the progress of students in navigating through their study areas.
