Bauchi State Government has expressed its readiness to continue to partner with relevant NGOs, CSOs and International donor agencies in order to improve and standardize healthcare delivery services in its facilities.
The expression was made by the State Commissioner of Health, Dr Samaila Dahuwa Kaila while speaking at IHP Brown Bag Learning Session held on Tuesday at Hazibal Suites, Bauchi with the theme: Dissemination of Digital Health Intervention Findings.
The Commissioner also express satisfaction with the various interventions that have been undertaken by USAID /IHP in improving healthcare delivery services in state saying that, “IHP has indeed done very well in the interventions. They have really supported us to develop the health sector”.
Samaila Dahuwa added that, “though as a Ministry we are not directly involved in field work, what we are seeing in the reports are indicative of the successes of the programmes. The reports are impressive, the more reason that the interventions are going on unhindered”.
Represented by the Director, Public Health of the Ministry, Ibrahim Waziri, the Commissioner said that, “IHP remains the major supporter of health improvement in Bauchi state and we commend them for that. We are expecting more from them”.
He then stressed the importance of data collation and analysis for effective and efficient planning and implementation of all health issues and programs saying that the Ministry has an accurate data base of all interventions.
Also speaking, the HoD, Health Information Management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, Mrs Abe O. Helen stressed that data is very important in health planning and implementation.
Abe Helen added that, “though we are a Federal institution, we are part of Bauchi State. We are serving the people of the state, we need accurate data to be able to serve effectively and efficiently, that is the reason we do not joke with data collation and analysis”.
The HIM HoD therefore advised that all relevant health related agencies should always make sure that their data base is effective and regularly updated in order to help in the process of planning and implementing healthcare delivery services.
