The Adamawa State Joint National Association of Persons with Disability have impeached its state Chairman, Engineer Sani Sabo.
This is contained in a release made available to Apex News Exclusive in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
It stated that the chairman was found guilty of irregularities.
The release signed by Samuel Jayu, the former Vice Chairman now Chairman, the Executive Council of the Association, said it has written to the national body alleging that they have never been carried along by the impeached chairman.
According to the release, shortly after the appointment of an electoral body to conduct election, there was a request for N100,000 as take-off grant for preparation to conduct election but it was discovered the erstwhile chairman has been conducting affairs of the union without the knowledge of the other executives.
That the removed chairman had been in the habit of removing some of the local government exco members without informing his exco.
They also alleged that the removed chairman had without the knowledge of members been holding meetings with some of the local government members and using non exco members to pilot the affairs of the association.
They are accusing the ousted chairman of interfering with the activities of cluster associations without recourse to rules thus causing ripples to these associations.
There is lack of transparency and accountability hence two-thirds of members decided to pass a vote of no confidence on the former Chairman.
Meanwhile, the said ousted Chairman in a phone interview denied all the allegations made saying the whole thing is all about their impending elections.
He said, “you can just imagine, they have not even given me a copy of the said allegations and there is no truth whatsoever in what they are alleging.”
