Taraba State Government has warned selfish politicians to stop using the pedestal of Muslims Right Concern, MURIC to cause religious disharmony in the state.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity Bala Dan Abu says it is unhealthy for the Director of MURIC Professor Ishaq Akintola to allow himself to be used as willing tool in the hands of politicians that wants power by all means in twenty twenty three.

It condemn the recent mission of Professor Akintola to inciting Muslims against their Christian brothers and sisters, using appointments made by agencies of government as excuse.

The statement affirmed that the antics of the MURIC Director who sought to exploit the appointment of permanent secretaries by the Taraba State Government and also those of some officers of the Taraba State University, Jalingo, to portray Governor Darius Ishaku as promoting the interests of Christians is not only ridiculous but mischievous to a man who is said to be a follower of Allah.

Taraba State Government posits that Professor Akintola’s diatribe has, generated intense distaste among the people of the state because it is obvious that he is fronting for selfish politicians who are riding on the wings of unhealthy religious sentiments.

The statement again reiterated the stance of Governor Darius Ishaku who since inception has remained, the best friend of Muslims who ensures that favours done to any religious group is replicated in the same quantum to the other.

It states categorically that Governor Darius Ishaku has never directly or indirectly been involved in any employment and promotion exercises apart from insisting and ensuring that there is a level playing field to produce the best results.

The State government wishes to advise the good people of Taraba State to ignore those seeking to promote religious conflict in order to gain political power saying the timing of Professor Akintola’s wicked campaign shows that he is working for selfish and unpatriotic politicians who would rather wish the state is set ablaze rather than for them to fail to win political power in twenty twenty three.

Taraba State Government advise Tarabans to reject such politicians using religion to cause tension and conflict in the state.
