A group known as the United Northern Nigeria Forum has staged a rally on the streets of Katsina town, urging the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Dr Godwin Emefiele, to join the presidential race for the 2023 election.
The rally took several hours in the hot sun on Monday with many participants holding placards with inscriptions in solidarity with the CBN Governor.
Addressing journalists at the rally, the leader of the group, Ibrahim Bature, said their choice for the CBN Governor to run for the presidency, follows his good policies in the CBN, especially the Anchor Borrower Scheme among other policies in the agriculture sector of the country.
He added that the group is ready to purchase a nomination form for the CBN Governor, urging him to just answer the call to join the race.
