Kaduna South senatorial aspirant, Katung pledges priotizing education

The 2019 Kaduna running mate to Isa Ashiru Kudan and a Southern Kaduna Senatorial aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Sunday Marshall Katung has promised to place priority on the educational development of his people if given the opportunity to represent them at the National Assembly in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Katung reveal this while commissioning his campaign office and the 8 local government coordinators in Kafanchan, headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area.
He said education is the bedrock of development in any society, hence, the need to accord it all the attention it deserves.

According to him, his decision to seek the senatorial position was borne ouf of his desire to serve the people.
“I am running for the seat, not for my self but to serve the good people of this area. I promise to fight for your rights and also defend you.
“I will work to ensure that the people of Southern Kaduna are not shortchanged and that whatever is meant for them will get to them,” he added
He also promised to work towards boosting agricultural production in the zone.
“We are a people that are passionate about education and that is why I have decided to formalize my educational foundation.
“We will be giving out scholarships to indigent students who cannot afford to pay their tuition fees and other things.
“Again, we will focus on agriculture because we have crops that can give us comparative advantage like ginger which we can export and get revenue,” he added
In his remarks, the Director General of the aspirant’s campaign organization, Simon Arabo, described Katung as the right man for the job given his impressive pedigree in politics.
Arabo maintained that Southern Kaduna was blessed with both human and material resources but needed sound and visionary leadership to fully maximize its potentials.
Also speaking, Zakaria Shamaki, a PDP Chieftain, lauded the ambition of the aspirant, noting that he had what it takes to place Southern Kaduna on the path of sustainable development.
Shamaki urged members of the party to place the overriding interest of the public above all other considerations in choosing who will fly the party’s flag in the 2023 elections.
The coordinators who were inaugurated include; Augustine Bala, Jema’a; Daniel Anyip, Kaura; Istifanus Haruna, Jaba; Caleb Pius, Kagarko; Micah Audu, Zangon Kataf; Fidelis Awiri; Kaura, Jonathan Ambigama; Sanga and Timothy Joseph; Kachia local government.
The ‘Get Involved’ movement of Sunday Marshal Katung popularly known as SMK is touring the eight local government areas of Kaduna South Senatorial District for consultation tour.
