2023 presidency: We’re working towards consensus candidate in PDP – former Senate President, Bukola Saraki

Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir his Sokoto State colleague, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and the immediate former President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki along side other big wigs of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have agreed to work together in a bid to produce a consensus presidential candidate for the party in 2023 general elections.
Briefing Journalists after a consultative meeting in Bauchi, Bukola Saraki said that the three of them discussed the current situation in the country, the suffering of Nigerians and how to strategies towards ensuring that the PDP won the 2023 presidency in order to rescue Nigeria from imminent collapse under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former Senate President also said that the meeting centered on the need to salvage Nigeria from what he described as bad governance by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) resulting into increasing poverty in the land.
According to him, “We Met for some hours and discussed the Current, Situation in Nigeria and the 2023 general Elections. We are all qualified and indicated interest to rule Nigeria with some of us even buying interest and nomination forms, but as Brothers, we have to sit down and come out with a consensus candidate at the THE END OF THE WHOLE GAME”.
He then commended Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir for his magnanimity and concern for the growth and development of the PDP and Nigeria in general calling on Nigerians to continue to have hope and faith in the PDP.
He asserted that, “As it is now in Nigeria, no political party will salvage the situation except the PDP and we are ready, have assured the people of Nigeria that we cannot afford to fail them again”.
