The Ezeigbo 11 of Byazhin Kingdom, Abuja, His Royal Highness, Igwe Jude Udobi has decried the incessant killing and abduction of security operatives across the country.
In a media chat to usher in his maiden Ofala festival in the Kingdom which is slated for next weekend at the LEA Primary School Byazhin, Abuja, the traditional ruler stressed the need for the youths to deescalate the trend, pointing out that both political and traditional leaders will never succumb to such pressure.
He advised the youths to close ranks with their leaders, express their grievances to them and give them time to get the government to listen and act accordingly, instead of waging war against the society.
According to him, a situation where some youths lay security personnel, butcher them and steal their weapons is not ideal, thus standing to be condemned.
“Who taught them such methods? That’s waging war against society, such acts will not be tolerated. Just look at the security situation in the country, especially in the North East, North West and South East and you will begin to wonder how they think they can succeed in waging a war against the government,” he said.
The traditional ruler said for Nigeria to reclaim her fortunes and stand tall among the committee of nations, peace is paramount, noting that without peace no investor will come to develop businesses, which will in turn create jobs for the people.
Speaking further, Igwe Jude Udobi enjoined residents of Byazhin to live together in peace and harmony and urged the residents to report anyone with nefarious attitude to either the political or traditional rulers, if they can’t do the same to the security agents.
He however thanked President Buhari for signing into law the national electoral bill, which he maintained was a good drive to the future.
