Bauchi sensitizes stakeholders on NG-CARES’s livelihood grant support

Bauchi state government on Friday sensitized critical stakeholders on the livelihood grant support (DLI 1.3) project of the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES)
At the occasion which was held at Government House Bauchi, the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim expressed confidence that, the participants would be equiped with the basic information and knowledge on the concept of the project such that its implementation will be seamless and successful in the state.
He told that the stakeholders that the present administration of Governor Bala Mohammed had prioritized the empowerment of youth and women especially from the informal sector so as to improve their living conditions.
Represented by the Special Adviser to the state governor on General Services, Hashimu Yakubu, the SSG called on the project team of the livelihood grant support to implement the project with high sense of patriotism, commitment, honesty and in line with the project of the project implementation manual.
“Huge investments have been made by Bauchi State Government under the administration of His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed in the area of sustaining micro-economic, small and medium enterprises, the results of these investments are visible in providing gainful entrepreneurial activities, stemming the tide of youth restiveness and improving socio-economic activities.
“The NG-CARES is therefore here to compliment our efforts at accelerating socio-economic activities and improved standard of living for the poor especially at the rural areas.”
Barrister Ibrahim Kashim who also launched the project manual at the occasion, assured that the state government will continue to support such initiative for the best interest of the state and for the benefit of its people.
In a remark, the Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Idris Giade, represented by Bala Yakubu Lame of the State Emergency Management Agency, said NG-CARES programme was to assist in cushioning the effect effect of COVID-19 pandemic on the social and economic growth and development of citizens.
