Accident victims’ initiative NGO solicits ambulance support from Benue Governor, Ortom

TRAVSI Founder, Hon. Asemanya lifts an accident victim to safety and medical attention

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) helping to rescue accident victims, 24Hours Road Accident Victims Support Initiative (TRAVSI) is soliciting assistance from the Benue State Government in the provision of an ambulance.
This was contained in a SOS letter titled ‘Special appeal for provision of ambulance to help save accident victims in Benue State’ to the Governor of the State, Dr. Samuel Ortom dated March 28, 2022 by the Founder/ CEO, Hon. Gadafi M. Asemanya.
He noted that the ambulance is to enable in the life-saving NGO function optimally and attain its mission to champion best practice in response to road accidents and support victims to access quick medical support.
According to the letter, Asemanya informed the Governor that the 24hrs Road Accident Victims support initiative is a unique NGO, first in Benue State and Nigeria to embark on 24hrs rescue services but lacked necessary tools to enable it function as desired.
He told the Governor that the organization is currently operating with only one functional truck to move accident victims to hospitals on daily basis around Benue State.
“Owing to the frequency of these crashes, we most of the times get overwhelmed and become helpless as we find it difficult to cope with these unfortunate daily occurrences,” the letter added.
