The Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Danjuma Tella Laah has awarded over 100 students including non indigenes of the area with fully funded scholarship to study in Kaduna State University (KASU), Kafanchan Campus.
Senator Laah has over the years given scholarships to students across the eight Local Government Areas that make up Senatorial District, as part of his continuous efforts to give hope to future generation.
The Senior Legislative Aide to the senator, Joseph Major, who led the delegation to the Kafanchan Campus of Kaduna State University, said the exercise, which is not the first of its kind, is part of the educational support by the senator to his constituents and other non indigenes that are residing in the zone.
“The Senator has been given educational support program over years even before he became the senator. But this decision came as a result of the University was no more recruiting for remedial programs because people found it very difficult to pay, so the senator felt that if it is just because of money let them reopen the program and he will take the responsibility of paying for the students.” He said.

Also speaking, the Deputy Director, Center for Basic and Remedial Studies, Kafanchan Campus, Dr. Ibrahim Akos commended the senator for his quick intervention after he was briefed on the closure of the program in the Kafanchan campus of the university.
