Fight against insecurity must be multifaceted – Bauchi APC governorship candidate

The gubernatorial candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State for the 2023 General elections, Amb Saddique Baba Abubakar has said that the fight against insecurity in the country should be multifaceted. 

Interacting with journalists Abubakar said that, “The fight against insecurity should be economical, political and physical. If we take the multifaceted approach, the war will be won”. 

The gubernatorial candidate commended the Federal Government for the physical approach by making funds available to procure required equipment to fighting insecurity in the country stressing that collaboration is most important in the fight. 

He also assured that if he eventually elected as the next Governor in 2023, his administration will adopt the multifaceted approach in securing Bauchi State in  order to maintain the peace in the State. 

The gubernatorial candidate said that, “our focus now is how to defeat the PDP come 2023. We are a formidable force and the APC is battle ready to wrestle power in order to make things better in the area of health and education”. 

“We were able to change the narratives positively in the Air Force, today we have the best in health services and education because of what we were able to do. By the grace of God, if elected, we will use the same approach in Bauchi state”, he added. 

Baba Abubakar commended the delegates for believing in his abilities to be the party’s flag bearer in the 2023 General elections assuring that he will not let them down if eventually elected as the Governor”. 

He also assured that he will work with other contestants to ensure that the APC faced the general elections as a united entity stressing that it is only through that the party can win the election. 

According to him, “One of the contestants has visited me to congratulate and assured me that he is ready to work for the victory of the party. We  are a family and I am confident that there will be no problem”. 

He also commended the party leadership from the national to the ward levels for allowing a level field playing ground which resulted in a free, fair, credible and acceptable primary election 

According to him, last week’s primary election was his first attempt in democratic contest adding that he is in the race to bring development to the people of the state.

In his words: “This is the first time I am going through this process. In our own system, we just give directives and they are carried out. There is no story. It is also something we are very familiar with. Having being to Staff College and International College, we understand the interaction within the political and military sides of the society”.

He added that, “I was glad seeing different people from the villages coming to decide who they think should be in charge of their affairs in this party. It was very exciting. I appreciate the committee that came from Abuja to conduct a peaceful primary in the presence of every aspirant. I have learnt a lot.”

The former Air Force Chief also said that the number of out-of-school children and state of the health sector gave him concern pledging to come up with a blueprint to develop the education and other sectors.
