Wikki Tourists FC, Bauchi

Management of Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi has denied media reports that its Technical Adviser, Kabiru Dogo has left the Club due to unreconcilable differences.
The Club management was reacting to a report an on line report (Social Media) by one @Adexsports alledging that the Technical Adviser of the team Kabiru Dogo is set to dump the Club for lack of what the writer says as welfare,support and commitments on the part of the Management.
According to a release from the Media Team of the Club, “unfortunately in trying to be sensational with his caption, the writer failed to do his home work very well, may be the report could have been different” .
The release further contained that, “Wikki Tourists fc is solely owned by the Bauchi State Government and all necessary support is given to the club and we say kudos to His Excellency Governor Bala Muhammed Abdulkadir for that.
“On two occasions this season, the Governor through the Management of the Club appreciated the efforts of the players by motivating them with some cash award apart from ensuring payment of their salaries as and when due,while also personally attending their match at the ATB Stadium Bauchi”, it added.
The Media team further stated that, “The Management of Wikki Tourists also ensures that before every home game, players are camped outside their normal accommodation at the games village all in an effort to motivate them for optimal result” .
It stressed that, “It’s on record that the Chairman of the club, Balarabe Yusuf Douglas on the eve of match day 32 against Rivers United FC, visited the players at their camp and presented them with cash gifts to further motivate them” .
It also stated that, “The Secretary to the State Government on the invitation of Management was at the Stadium on match day 32 against Rivers United where he re-emphasized the State Government’s commitments to the welfare of the team and further encourage them to do more” .
“To this time the management of Wikki Tourists fc has been able to pay reasonable amount of Match bonuses despite government lean resources and other competing demands which is highly commendable”, it streesed.
The Club then explained that, “When Kabiru Dogo took over the team at the beginning of the season, he was given free hand by the Management to recruit his players and almost a new team was assembled and gladly the position of the team currently on the log is far better that what it was last Season after playing same number of matches.
“Gladly, Coach Kabiru Dogo has dissociated himself from the report while talking to the Club Media on the issue. He said, when I saw the report I was shocked. How can I overnight destroy something that I took time to build” , he queried.
“I have a mission and target in Wikki Tourists,to stabilize the team this Season and compete for laurels next season” , he concluded.
The Media team concluded stating that, “We therefore wonder what better reliable source the writer could have used for his report than Coach himself, because we believe in the saying that he who wear the shoes knows where it pinches most.
“Finally, the Management of the Club under the leadership of Balarabe Yusuf Douglas wish express it continued appreciation to His Excellency the Governor for his support to the team which is immeasurable.
“We also appreciate the efforts of the players, Technical Crew and all others who are contributing meaningfully to the development of the team.
