Yobe PDP: Let’s forgive ourselves, unite to reclaim power, Shariff urges members

The Yobe State gubernatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Shariff Abdullahi, has urged members of the party to forgive one another and unite to reclaim power in the state in 2023.

Shariff who made the call in Damatiru at the stakeholders and aspirants 
meeting of the party, said that forgiveness was sacrosanct for the party to move forward.

He said that the PDP in its conscious plan to conscientise the people, try to improve on internal democracy and bring about the much-needed unity, organised the party aspirants and  stakeholders meetings.

According to him, “We have been going round all the zones to meet with critical stakeholders of the party, from the ward level up to the state.“The idea is to know if there are problems, and if there are no problems, we get suggestions so that we can unite the party.“What we need as a party is unity and sincerity of purpose.“

He further said that, in the game of politics, one could not move an inch without stepping on somebody’s toes, adding that forgiveness was very important for the unity and progress of the party.

In his remarks, the state party chairman of PDP Ambassador Umar El-Gash, said that the large turnout of stakeholders and the enthusiasm exhibited was a true testimony of the acceptability of the party.“

He added that, ” You can see how well attended the meeting is and the enthusiasm that the people have shown.“The people who know the politics of Yobe State know that is the pillar of PDP in Northeast from 1999.

Therefore, we have gathered all stakeholders and aspirants of the party from all shades of opinion to discuss the progress of the party, reconcile ourselves and plan the way forward,” the Ambassador said.
